Jeckyll & Hyde

Jeckyll & Hyde, the successful project by producer Maarten Vorwerk, was the driving force behind the jumpstyle craze that swept the Netherlands in the 2000s. With hits like Frozen Flame and the No. 1 single Freefall, they topped the charts in 2007 and got the whole country jumping. After nearly a decade-long break, Jeckyll & Hyde returned to the stage in 2019 to do it all over again. Want to book Jeckyll & Hyde? Jeckyll & Hyde: The Founders of the Dutch Jumpstyle Hype
What began as a project by renowned producer Maarten Vorwerk quickly turned into a phenomenon that took the Netherlands by storm. In 2005, Jeckyll & Hyde was born, and their unique sound sparked a wave of popularity in the Dutch dance scene. By late 2006, they broke through with the hit Frozen Flame, followed by Freefall, which climbed to the number 1 spot in the Dutch Top 40 in March 2007 and topped the Polish Airplay Chart as well.

The Rise of a New Dance Craze
In no time, Jeckyll & Hyde had the entire country jumping. Jumpstyle became a nationwide trend — not just in clubs, but also on schoolyards and in living rooms. The accompanying Lego-style music video went viral, contributing to their rapid rise and becoming one of the first viral video hits in the Netherlands. In 2007, their debut album was released and remained in the album charts for an impressive 18 weeks.

Awards and Recognition
Their success didn’t go unnoticed. Jeckyll & Hyde were nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award and received several other accolades, including the TMF Award, the Heineken NightLife Award for Most Popular Act, and the Geels Groep Award. Freefall and Frozen Flame became the best-selling singles of 2007 — a clear sign of their cultural impact.

Return to the Stage
After over 400 performances at home and abroad, Jeckyll & Hyde decided to bring the project to a close in 2009. But in 2019, after nearly a decade away, they made a powerful comeback — ready to win over fans all over again with high-energy performances and infectious tracks.

An Act That Still Captivates
Jeckyll & Hyde remain one of the most recognizable names in Dutch dance music. Their live shows bring audiences of all ages back to the golden era of jumpstyle, uniting people through music and filling every venue with an irresistible, nostalgic energy.
