Twenty 4 seven: icons of the eurodance scene
Twenty 4 Seven was founded in 1989 by Dutch DJ/producer Ruud van Rijen, with the goal of launching new musical talent. The group broke through in Europe with the hit I Can’t Stand It, a collaboration between MC Fixx It and singer Nance. This track marked the start of a string of international successes. Thanks to their energetic mix of a male rapper and female vocalist, Twenty 4 Seven developed a unique sound that remains timeless today.
The european breakthrough
In 1993, Twenty 4 Seven released the iconic track Slave to the Music, performed by vocalist Nance and rapper Stay-C. It became an instant hit and catapulted the group to global fame. This success was followed by more major hits like Is It Love, Take Me Away, and Leave Them Alone. During the 1990s, Twenty 4 Seven became one of the world’s most successful Eurodance acts, alongside 2 Unlimited — earning them the Dutch Export Award.
Global success and international tours
Twenty 4 Seven sold over 18 million records worldwide, earning gold and platinum certifications in numerous countries. They became a fan favorite on stages around the world — from Chile to Australia, Germany to South Africa — filling venues and lighting up dancefloors. In the Netherlands, they performed at major venues like Ahoy, the Brabanthallen, and all the big 90s-themed festivals.
New collaborations and the 90s revival
After several lineup changes, including singers like Stella, Elle, and Sharon Doorson, Nance made her return to Twenty 4 Seven at the end of 2019. Now reunited with Stay-C, the act is complete once again — regularly performing at 90s revival shows where they deliver their biggest hits to cheering crowds.
